The anticipation of New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is palpable. With its lineup of highly acclaimed designers and creative talent, the fashion world has their eyes on the Big Apple to see what will be unveiled. From luxe gowns to interesting streetwear looks, the sartorial possibilities are infinite.
In the leadup to NYFW, many fashion industry insiders and influencers are already making bold predictions on the upcoming trends that will dominate the runways. Given the current economic climate and the impact of the global pandemic, it is expected that the fashion aesthetic will be reflective of functionality, practicality, and an overall sustainability-driven mindset.
The preliminary schedule features 74 runway shows and presentations from returning brands, including Altuzarra, Anna Sui, AREA, Batsheva, Brandon Maxwell, Carolina Herrera, Coach, Collina Strada, Dion Lee, Eckhaus Latta, Elena Velez, Gabriela Hearst, Jason Wu Collection, KHAITE, LaQuan Smith, Michael Kors, Palomo Spain, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, Puppets & Puppets, Sergio Hudson, Simkhai, Sukeina,Tory Burch, Ulla Johnson, Who Decides War and Willy Chavarria, among others. A dozen brands will activate by appointment or digitally.
First-time additions to the schedule’s in-person activations include Heron Preston, Koltson, Cucculelli Shaheen,Ayama Studio, Kallmeyer, Kate Barton,Nayon, and Zimo.
This year, attendees of NYFW will have the opportunity to experience the cutting-edge of fashion originality. With a powerpacked lineup and the utilization of innovative technology, fashion enthusiasts will be able to experience the newest trends and styles that will emerge in the weeks and months ahead.
